How many times did we spend facing the mirror, checking ourselves if we’re pretty enough to go out?! Or how many times did we change our make-up to make sure that we are extremely gorgeous? I bet an hour or more than that. Yes, that’s how we women get obsessed or more conscious with our physical beauty. How would i know that?.. because i am like that. Everyday I spend an hour just to make sure that my face are fully covered with make-up, hair that should be fabulously done and an outfit that will turn me into a beautiful and hot woman. It’s kinda tiring sometimes but most of it, i feel extremely happy and contented especially when people around me notice me and gave a compliment.. (yay!flip hair. :lol: )
But while it is normal and okay to spend so much time and money to enhance our beauty, it should not consume our daily life and steal our time with the Lord. Yes, i am talking about our quiet time with him. I am guilty of it because i unconsciously spend more time checking beauty tips on the internet, making sure that my make-up is amazingly prettier than having my devotion, reading the bible and praying to Him.. I know it’s not good and i am pretty aware that what i am doing is not pleasing to Him. Thus i am reminding myself once again not to neglect my responsibility and my commitment to Him..
So to all the women out there and to me as well, God doesn’t want us to spend our time being conscious with our physical beauty because we are fearfully and wonderfully created by Him (Psalm 139:14), we are precious to His sight. We are clothed with strength and dignity (Proverbs 31:25a) and above all God called us His princesses. So no need for us to worry if we don’t look gorgeous, or if we feel fat because in His eyes we are the most beautiful creature He ever created.
Of course, we can still enhance our beauty, we can still enjoy our lives by having schedule in the salon, spa or a beauty clinic but make sure we have time to praise our God, to have our devotion and quiet time with Him because at the end of the day it’s not about how gorgeous we are, or how we are famous with our physical attributes but it is about WHO WE ARE and WHAT WE ARE before the Lord!
Proverbs 31:30 “Charm is deceptive and beauty is fleeting;
but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.
You are amazingly beautiful and so am I!
